Part 12

"And a mighty angel took up a stone, like a great millstone and cast it into the sea saying, With such violence shall the great city Babylon be thrown down and shall be found no more . . . And the light of a candle shall never again shine in you, nor shall the voice of the bridegroom and or the bride be heard in you any more, for your merchants were the great men of the Earth and by your sorcery's were all nations deceived." - Revelation 18: 20, 23

In his departure speech to the American people, President Dwight D. Eisenhower, warned our people to beware the schemes of what he called the ‘Military-Industrial-Complex'. What he forgot to mention was the third leg of this complex - the economic cartel that controls our money supply.

ROBBING THE POOR NATIONS - IMF's four steps to damnation

The way Fareed Zakaria puts it, one would think that the reason why the nations of the world hate us is simply because of envy or globalism. Writing in Newsweek's Cover Story for Oct. 15th, Fareed Zakaria explains:

Why They Hate Us;

"America stands at the center of this world of globalization. It seems unstoppable. If you close the borders, America comes in through the mail.

If you censor the mail, it appears in fast food and faded jeans. If you ban the products, it seeps in through satellite television.

Americans are so comfortable with global capitalism and consumer culture that we cannot fathom just how revolutionary those forces are."

Actually, there is a lot more to the story than this.

One by one, the nations of the world have been subjected to military intervention and economic suppression.

The names of nations that have felt the brunt of US CIA and/or military activity as a result of foreign policy include Somalia, Afghanistan, Mexico, Guatemala, Panama, Colombia, Indonesia, Dominican Republic, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Palestinian Territories, Cuba, Vietnam, Korea, Nicaragua, Lebanon, Grenada, Haiti, Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Brazil, Chad, Sudan and many others.

Africans recall bitterly Washington's support for such despots as the late Mobutu Sese Seku of Zaire, and warlords such as Angola's Jonas Savimbi.

"It simply means that America has no regard for innocent lives lost in other parts of the world," said Sipho Seepe, a South African political analyst.

"For them the concept of innocent lives lost applies to situations where white and people of Western origin are involved. When it is black people's lives or those of people of Indian origin, the concept does not apply."

Major-General Smedley Butler, when speaking of U.S. Interventionism, said, "War is just a racket.

A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses.

I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested."

Very telling comments.

And you still don't understand why average people (as opposed to the governments and the "local" elites that have been installed over them, almost all of which serve at the pleasure of the United States and remain in power only so long as they retain America's good will - for example, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Pakistan, etc.) would feel this way about the United States?

William Blum - a former high-ranking and extremely principled member of the U.S. State Department (and now an investigative journalist in Washington D.C.) - notes in his book, Rogue State: A Guide To The World's Only Superpower, that if one were to ever write an honest and candid history of the United States over the last sixty years, he would have to entitle it, Serial Chain-Saw Baby Killers And The Women Who Love Them. Blum writes:

"The women don't really believe that their 'beloved' would do such a thing, even if they're shown a severed limb or a headless torso.

Or if they believe it, they know down to their bone marrow that 'lover-boy' really had the best of intentions; it must have been some kind of very unfortunate accident, a well-meaning blunder; in fact, even more likely, it was a humanitarian act."

Blum puts it, "lover boy" (i.e., America) really has the best of intentions; and that the "collateral damage" that has occurred throughout the world as a result of America's so-called "War on Communism" (and now, its present-day "War on Drugs" and its parallel "War on Terrorism" is nothing more than a series of "unfortunate accidents" and "well-meaning blunders;" in fact, even more likely, "humanitarian acts."

Even the people in Europe know. For example, Der Spiegel, the leading newsmagazine in Germany, knows! It opens:

"Never before in ... history has a country dominated the earth so totally as the United States does today ... America is now the (Arnold) Schwarzenegger of international politics: showing off muscles, obtrusive, intimidating ... The Americans, in the absence of limits put to them by anybody or anything, act as if they own a kind of blank check in their 'McWorld'."

And academicians the world over know too! They all know! Take, Samuel P. Huntington, Eaton Professor of the Science of Government and Director of the John M. Olin Institute for Strategic Studies at Harvard University. He writes:

"The United States is now at an extraordinary peak of power in relation to other nations. Its superpower opponent (i.e., the old Soviet Union) has disappeared from the map ... It faces no economic challenge.

It dominates (the world's) international political and security institutions with Japan and Europe acting as JUNIOR partners ... So great has U.S. domination of the earth progressed that decisions made at the United Nations or in the International Monetary Fund are essentially U.S. decisions reflecting U.S. values - they are not world decisions at all."

Huntington continues, "The very phrase, 'the world community' has become (nothing more than) a euphemistic collective noun ... to give global legitimacy to actions reflecting the interests of the United States ... and through the IMF (International Monetary Fund) and other international economic institutions, the U.S. promotes its economic interests and imposes on other nations the economic policies it thinks appropriate."

ROBBING THE POOR NATIONS - IMF's four steps to damnation

How crises, failures, and suffering finally drove a Presidential adviser to the wrong side of the barricades

Gregory Palast

Sunday April 29, 2001

It was like a scene out of Le Carré: the brilliant agent comes in from the cold and, in hours of debriefing, empties his memory of horrors committed in the name of an ideology gone rotten. But this was a far bigger catch than some used-up Cold War spy.

The former apparatchik was Joseph Stiglitz, ex-chief economist of the World Bank. The new world economic order was his theory come to life.

He was in Washington for the big confab of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. But instead of chairing meetings of ministers and central bankers, he was outside the police cordons.

The World Bank fired Stiglitz two years ago. He was not allowed a quiet retirement: he was excommunicated purely for expressing mild dissent from globalization World Bank-style.

Here in Washington we conducted exclusive interviews with Stiglitz, for The Observer and Newsnight, about the inside workings of the IMF, the World Bank, and the bank's 51% owner, the US Treasury.

And here, from sources unnamable (not Stiglitz), we obtained a cache of documents marked, 'confidential' and 'restricted'.

Stiglitz helped translate one, a 'country assistance strategy'. There's an assistance strategy for every poorer nation, designed, says the World Bank, after careful in-country investigation.

But according to insider Stiglitz, the Bank's 'investigation' involves little more than close inspection of five-star hotels and concludes with a meeting with a begging finance minister, who is handed a 'restructuring agreement' pre-drafted for 'voluntary' signature.

Each nation's economy is analyzed, says Stiglitz, then the Bank hands every minister the same four-step program.

Step One is privatization. Stiglitz said that rather than objecting to the sell-offs of state industries, some politicians - using the World Bank's demands to silence local critics - happily flog their electricity and water companies.

'You could see their eyes widen' at the possibility of commissions for shaving a few billion off the sale price.

And the US government knew it, charges Stiglitz, at least in the case of the biggest privatization of all, the 1995 Russian sell-off.

'The US Treasury view was: "This was great, as we wanted Yeltsin re-elected. We DON'T CARE if it's a corrupt election."

Stiglitz was inside the game - a member of Bill Clinton's cabinet, chairman of the President's council of economic advisers.

Most sickening for Stiglitz is that the US-backed oligarchs stripped Russia's industrial assets, with the effect that national output was cut nearly in half.

After privatization, Step Two is capital market liberalization. In theory this allows investment capital to flow in and out. Unfortunately, as in Indonesia and Brazil, the money often simply flows out.

Stiglitz calls this the 'hot money' cycle. Cash comes in for speculation in real estate and currency, then flees at the first whiff of trouble.

A nation's reserves can drain in days.

And when that happens, to seduce speculators into returning a nation's own capital funds, the IMF demands these nations raise interest rates to 30%, 50% and 80%.

'The result was predictable,' said Stiglitz. Higher interest rates demolish property values, savage industrial production and drain national treasuries.

At this point, according to Stiglitz, the IMF drags the gasping nation to Step Three: market-based pricing - a fancy term for raising prices on food, water and cooking gas. This leads, predictably, to Step-Three-and-a-Half: what Stiglitz calls 'the IMF riot'.

The IMF riot is painfully predictable. When a nation is, 'down and out, [the IMF] squeezes the last drop of blood out of them.

They turn up the heat until, finally, the whole cauldron blows up,' - as when the IMF eliminated food and fuel subsidies for the poor in Indonesia in 1998. Indonesia exploded into riots.

And it is. What Stiglitz did not know is that Newsnight obtained several documents from inside the World Bank. In one, last year's Interim Country Assistance Strategy for Ecuador, the Bank several times suggests - with cold accuracy - that the plans could be expected to spark 'social unrest'.

That's not surprising. The secret report notes that the plan to make the US dollar Ecuador's currency has pushed 51% of the population below the poverty line.

The IMF riots (and by riots I mean peaceful demonstrations dispersed by bullets, tanks and tear gas) cause new flights of capital and government bankruptcies This economic arson has its bright side - for foreigners, who can then pick off remaining assets at fire sale prices.

A pattern emerges. There are lots of losers but the clear winners seem to be the western banks and US Treasury.

Now we arrive at Step Four: free trade. This is free trade by the rules of the World Trade Organization and the World Bank, which Stiglitz likens to the Opium Wars. 'That too was about "opening markets",' he said. As in the nineteenth century, Europeans and Americans today are kicking down barriers to sales in Asia, Latin American and Africa while barricading our own markets against the Third World 's agriculture.

In the Opium Wars, the West used military blockades. Today, the World Bank can order a financial blockade, which is just as effective and sometimes just as deadly.

Stiglitz has two concerns about the IMF/World Bank plans. First, he says, because the plans are devised in secrecy and driven by an absolutist ideology, never open for discourse or dissent, they 'undermine democracy'.

Second, they don't work
. Under the guiding hand of IMF structural 'assistance' Africa's income dropped by 23%.

Did any nation avoid this fate? Yes, said Stiglitz, Botswana. Their trick? 'They told the IMF to go packing.'

Stiglitz proposes radical land reform: an attack on the 50% crop rents charged by the propertied oligarchies worldwide.
Why didn't the World Bank and IMF follow his advice?

'If you challenge [land ownership], that would be a change in the power of the elites. That's not high on their agenda.'

Ultimately, what drove him to put his job on the line was the failure of the banks and US Treasury to change course when confronted with the crises, failures, and suffering perpetrated by their four-step monetarist mambo.

'It's a little like the Middle Ages,' says the economist, 'When the patient died they would say well, we stopped the bloodletting too soon, he still had a little blood in him.'

Take just one recent example of how U.S. corporations are acting throughout the world - with, naturally enough, the connivance of the U.S. government: specifically, the way the Bechtel Corporation [which is usually (and very mistakenly) thought of as a company doing business only in the Middle East] took control of the water system of Cochabamba Bolivia's third-largest city.

[Bolivia, by the way, is South America's poorest country.]
Jim Shultz, executive director of the Democracy Center and author of the book, The Democracy Owner's Manual, reports that two years ago, a subsidiary of Bechtel Enterprises took control of that city's water system.

Within weeks after taking charge - AND WITHOUT MAKING ANY IMPROVEMENTS WHATSOEVER IN THE WATER SYSTEM itself, Bechtel doubled and tripled water rates to the poor.

[Bechtel, it should be noted, is a FAVORITE of America's corporate / political elites. Dick Cheney, George Shultz, Cap Weinberger, the Bushes (both father and son), James Baker, and the other Mandarins of America's oil elites have all been tied, directly or indirectly, to Bechtel.]

Obviously, what Bechtel is up to is NOT working with "... local communities throughout the world to help improve their standard of living and their quality of life" [as Bechtel's mission statement so shamelessly (and falsely) declares], but gouging the poor of the world for all that it can get, AND HANG THOSE WHO CAN'T PAY.

But, then, this is precisely what other
American companies have been doing throughout the world for years and years - for example, what Nike has been doing in Malaysia and Indonesia, what Exxon-Mobil has been doing in the Middle East, what Chevron has been doing in Nigeria and Khazakstan, what Ford, GM, GE, etc. have been doing in Mexico.

It is a ruthless, pitiless, and unmerciful "game" - and it is a terribly heart-breaking one for those millions of ordinary people throughout the world who have fallen prey to its utter savagery and cold-hearted cruelty - for example, Mexican peasants who have had their farm land stolen by Cargill and ConAgra (and then who are shipped off to fend for themselves in Mexico City's vast slums);

Arabs who have had their oil stolen by Exxon-Mobil and Standard Oil; Russians who are having their vast natural resources stolen by the so-called "Oligarchy" operating under the direction of Western multinationals like Siemens, Barens Mining, Chevron Oil, and on and on and on ad infinitum.

Now, the United States is using the armies of the United Nations to do some of its dirty work.

Between fiscal years 1996, which began October 1995, and June 30, 2001, the United Nations conducted 33 peacekeeping operations in 28 countries, according to the report. As of January 2002, 15 of these operations were still ongoing in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, involving over 47,000 military personnel, civilian police, and observers.

The visit by Vice-President Dick Cheney to the Middle East last month is now seen as a prelude to what could be an attempt by the United States to remove Saddam Hussein by military means. Despite the opposition of most of America's allies, the mood within the Bush administration is now to enforce the removal of Saddam Hussein by any means.

Dick Cheney visited the region, including four neighbors of Iraq, in an attempt to persuade them to support the policy.

Israeli defense experts predict that the United States will launch an attack on Iraq in May, after US President George Bush branded Iraq, Iran and North Korea an 'axis of evil'.

The military experts, quoted by the Yediot Aharonot newspaper, say the Pentagon has received permission to start preparations for an offensive against Iraq as the second phase of Washington's global war on terror after Afghanistan.

The Israelis say the Americans have already started mustering the necessary troops and were coordinating with the Iraqi opposition.

The paper says Israeli Defense Minister Binyamin Ben Eliezer will ask the US administration to coordinate its offensive with the Israeli leadership.

By Barry Schweid (The Associated Press) January, 31 2002

WASHINGTON King Abdullah II of Jordan credited President George W. Bush with a balanced approach to the Israeli-Palestinian dispute Thursday but cautioned that any US attack on Iraq would destabilize the region.

The king, considered a moderate, was meeting US Secretary of State Colin Powell later in the day and Bush on Friday. The administration wants to assure Arab leaders its interest in Middle East peacemaking has not flagged.

But Abdullah said moving against Iraq at this shaky time in the Middle East would cause trouble through the region.

"I think that the Middle East has taken some tremendous shocks as it is already," he said. "If Iraq was targeted, I think it would create immense instability in the whole region."

WAR ON TERROR Moscow Official Warns Answer Is Emphatic NO
© 2002

The Russian parliamentary chairman for international affairs says his nation will not accept the use of force against Iraq in the war on terrorism.

Dimitri Rogozin told the London Arabic-language daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat that Moscow is assisting Baghdad and strongly opposes any use of force against Iraq, despite its international provocations.

"We are helping Iraq, and we will not accept anyone seeking to use military force against it," he said in an interview translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

"We are strongly opposed to the sanctions and maintain that they have outlived their usefulness and have proven nothing.

. . . If the Americans want to eliminate Saddam Hussein, they must be willing to sacrifice some 100,000 Americans.

America is not willing to do that. For this reason, any venture against Iraq will be nothing more than idiotic muscle-flexing."
We have seen how the nostrums of Nostrodamas were twisted by Adolph Hitler's generals in World War II to predict victory for the Nazis and we have also seen how the British, turned around and used those same predictions to show the Allies winning the war.

Now, we come to our own day and discover that various prophecies about the destruction of Israel's enemies, are being twisted and perverted to suit Zionist' causes.

But before I get into those prophecies, I want to lay a piece of very important ground-work.

There were certain truths that Christ wanted to teach his disciples, that were so sensitive and startling, that he had to veil them in parables and hope that they would understand them through intuition.

And none were more sensitive than those dealing with kingdom of Satan and his gathering together the nations of Gog and Magog for the battle against God's kingdom.

Rather than rehash important truths hidden in the Parable of the father and his two sons (Lu. 15:11-32) and the Parable about the shrewd servant, who realizing that he was about to lose his position, went and made friends with the creditors who owed his lord much, by cutting their debts in half.
(Lu. 16:1-8) For a detailed explanation of these esoteric passages go to:

Both of these passages refer to the fall of Lucifer (or Satan) and the promise that he made to the MOST HIGH GOD, when he was commanded to repent.

The text relates, "One third of the angels sided with Satan. As they did so, their appearance was changed from their former glorious image to an image resembling that of mankind today. The other angels cast them down to the lower heavens.

Satan then came into this firmament but could not find rest for himself or those who were with him. He then entreated the Father, Have patience with me and I will repay you everything. So the Father had mercy upon him and his followers giving them Seven Days.' "

By studying the original source, one will come to realize who the Prince of the Power of the Air really is and how he was given seven days (seven thousand years) to make restitution to the MOST HIGH.

And just as Christ will deliver up the Kingdom to the Father, when he has put down all rule and authority, so must Lucifer work for him. Now, with these thoughts in mind, let's take a look at two important passages:

"Behold, I will make those belonging to the Synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews but are not really Jews, but are lying; Behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet and they will know that I have loved you, because you have kept the word of my endurance.

I will also keep you through [not out of] the Hour of Testing that is coming upon all the world, to try those who live on Earth." (Rev. 3:9,10)

"Then shall the Wicked One be revealed, . . . whose coming is by the working of Satan, with all power and signs and lying wonders and all deceiveableness of unrighteousness, in those that are perishing, because they received not the Love of the Truth, that they might be saved.

For this cause God shall send them strong delusion, so that they will believe a lie; that they may all be damned, who did not believe the Truth. . . ." (II Thess. 2:8-12)

Just what is this lie, you ask. Well, let me ask you this question: Is Christ's kingdom a heavenly kingdom or an earthly one?

Over the past few weeks, since the events of 9 -11- 01, I've heard a deafening crescendo of diatribes against the Arabs and Moslems, because they uphold the cause of the Palestinian refugees.

These voices are calling for the use of armed might on the part of the United States and Europe to eradicate entire states and peoples, using nuclear arms if necessary. 'Prophecy Experts' are digging up prophecies from the Old Testament that spoke about the destruction of ancient Israel's enemies, in a rather hyperbolical sense.

Now, we are supposed to go into those ancient lands and bomb them back to the Stone Age!!!

We are being called upon to send our sons and daughters to war, even if we suffer revenge and retaliation from those very countries, whom Israel calls 'enemies'. I am going to examine some of those frightening prophecies that speak of the destruction of whole countries but before, I do, let me ask this question:

"By faith, Abraham, when called to go forth to a place, which he was to receive for an inheritance, believed and went out . . by Faith he journeyed in a strange country, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise.

. . . Because he looked for a city which had foundations, whose builder and maker is God. . . . But these all died in faith, not having received the promises but saw them afar off and were persuaded and embraced and confessed, that they were strangers and pilgrims on earth.

For truly, if they had been mindful of that country, from whence they came, they might have had opportunity to return there, But now they desire a better country - a heavenly country, therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared for them a City."
- Heb. 11: 8-10, 13-16.

"But you have come unto Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem and to an innumerable company of angels, to the general Assembly and Church of the Firstborn."
- Hebrews 12:22, 23

Now, let's take a look at some of frightening passages that seem to speak of nuclear war.

"Behold, I will make Jerusalem a Cup of trembling unto ALL the people round about . . . And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for ALL people:

, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. (Zech.2:2, 3) If I were to interpret this passage literally, I would come away with the conviction that all the peoples who come to Jerusalem, both friend and foe will be destroyed, not just her enemies.

When Jesus told his disciples that the city of Jerusalem would be destroyed and be trodden under foot by the Gentiles, until the 'times of the Gentiles' be fulfilled.
(Lu. 21:24)

I think, we can safely say that that prophecy was literally fulfilled, for we saw the rebirth of Israel as a nation in 1942.

In Daniel 12:1, we see that, in the time of the End, Israel will be in such danger that "Michael shall arise to defend your [Daniel's] people [Israel]."

Should we take this in a literal or a figurative sense? I am satisfied we must understand this in a literal sense.

In Obadiah, God foretells the destruction of the House of Esau, particularly the people of Edom, "Shall I not in that day, says the LORD, even destroy the wise men out of Edom and understanding out of the mount of Esau?

. . . And the house of Jacob shall be a fire and the house of Joseph a flame and the house of Esau for stubble and they shall kindle in them and devour them and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD has spoken."
(Obadiah 8, 18)

Maybe this should not be taken too literally - I mean a real flame?

"And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD comes. . . Egypt shall be a desolation and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land."
(Joel 2:30,31 & 3:19)

If we take this literally, it certainly sounds like nuclear explosions for sure but the Apostle Peter told his people that this prophecy was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost with the descent of the Spirit of God upon their sons and daughters. (See Acts 2:16-24)

While severe judgment did fall upon the nation of Edom in 70 A.D., they were not wiped out as a people, nor was their destruction by the hands of Israel, as Verse 18 indicates.

Contrast the above passage with this one, that many 'prophecy experts' insist speaks of the Antichrist: He shall enter also the glorious land and many countries shall be overthrown but these shall escape out of his hand - Edom and Moab and the chief of the children of Ammon [Jordan]. He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries and Egypt shall not escape.'
Dan. 11:41,42

This passage was literally fulfilled according to Books of the Maccabees, with the invasion of the Greeks.

"An oracle concerning Damascus [Syria]: See, Damascus will no longer be a city but will become a heap of ruins. The cities of Aroer will be deserted. . . . and left to flocks, which will lie down, with no one to make them afraid.

The fortified city will disappear from Ephraim, . . . and royal power from Damascus; the remnant of Aram will be like the glory of the Israelites," declares the LORD Almighty."
(Isaiah 17:3 NIV)
This may literally come to pass however;

In our previous article about the fall of Babylon, we saw that she was to become a heap of ruins forever, and yet Saddam Hussein has rebuilt the city and there are people living there right now!

Needless to say, Damascus, the oldest city on earth, is still in existence. So this prophecy has not yet been fulfilled.

I like Isaiah's prophecy better: "In that day there shall be a highway coming out of Egypt to Assayria [present day Iraq] and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.

In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyrian, even a blessing in the midst of the land; whom the LORD of armies shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt, my people and Assyria, the work of my hands and Israel, my inheritance."
- Isa. 19:23-25.

What about the prophecy of Jeremiah stating that the 'Throne of the LORD' shall be set up in Iran?

"Upon Iran will I bring the four winds from the four quarter of heaven and will scatter them toward all those winds and there shall be no nation where the outcast of Iran shall not go.

For I will cause Iran to be dismayed before their enemies and before those who seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, says the LORD and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them.

And I will set my throne in Iran and will destroy their king and their princes, says the LORD. But it shall come to pass, in the latter day, that I will bring back the captives of Iran, says the LORD."
(Jer. 49:36-39)

"And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite the people that have fought against Jerusalem:

Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet and their eyes shall consume away in their holes and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbor and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbor."
(Zech. 14:12, 13)

If this passage is meant to be taken literally, it sounds more like the effects of a neutron bomb rather than an atomic bomb. If it is to be taken figuratively, perhaps this destruction will be accomplished by the 'flying roll' (Gospel), spoke on in
Zech. 5:1-4

We also need to keep in mind, the plain language of Zechariah, who prophesied that Judah (the Jews) would fight against [heavenly] Jerusalem;

"And Judah shall fight against Jerusalem and the wealth of the heathen shall be gathered together, gold, silver and clothing in great abundance. And so shall be the plague of the horse of the mule of the camel and the ass and all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague.

And it shall come to pass that everyone that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts and to keep the feast of Tabernacles.

"And it shall come to pass that whoever will not come up, of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall there be no rain.

If the family of Egypt does not go up, they shall have no rain. This shall be the plague which the LORD will smite the heathen that refuse to come up to keep the feast of Tabenacles.

This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the other nations that come not to the feast of Tabernacles."
(Zech. 14: 14-19)

Which prophecy should be accept as literal? The one which says that all the nations shall come up every year for the Feast of Tabernacles (Succoth) or the one that say no Gentile shall enter Jerusalem??

Joel says that Jerusalem shall be "holy and there shall be no strangers (foreigners) passing through her, forever".
(Joel 3:17)

And Contrast "From the rising of the Sun to the going down of the same, my Name hall be great among the Gentiles:

and every place incense shall be offered unto my name and a pure offering for my Name shall be great among the Gentiles."
(Mal. 1:11)

Will there be mini-temples throughout the world where offerings and incense are offered or maybe the Gentiles will come up to Jerusalem every Sabbath!!

According to Isaiah, the nations come up from Sabbath to Sabbath. "For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many. . .

And I will set a sign among, to Lud that draws the bow, to Tubal and Javan to the islands far away, that have not heard my fame nor seen my glory, among the Gentiles.

And they shall bring their brethren as an offering unto the LORD out of all nations, . . . And I will take them to be priests and Levites, says the LORD. . . And it shall come to pass from one new moon to the next, and from one Sabbath to another shall all flesh come to worship before me, says the LORD, And they shall go forth to look upon the carcasses of the the men that transgressed against me; for their worm shall never die, neither shall their fire be quenched and they shall be an abhorrence unto all flesh."
(Isa. 66:16, 19-21, 23-24)

Surely, any Christian priest or pastor would say that this passage has been fulfilled for the past two thousand years.

Well, what about the part that says that the nations who come not up to Jerusalem, to keep the Feast of Tabernacle will have no rain.

Unfortunately, scientists in Russia and the United States already know how to control weather and have even produced earthquakes.

Unfortunately, we'll have to save that for another article. The events we see unfolding on our TV screen should drive us to humble our hearts and bend our knees before the Lord.
May God bless you and yours. - Jeffrey Brackeen
